# Disclosure - If you are taking part in Affiliate Marketing on your website you
HAVE to disclose that you are doing this. In many countries this is a legal
requirement and even if it isn’t then it is still ethical that you let your customers
know that you will potentially make money from links they click on. This
transparency is essential to maintaining the integrity of your website. This disclosure
should be prominent and easy for readers to see. The most common forms of
disclosure include a short written statement placed on a terms & conditions page or
at the end of articles containing affiliate links. There are lots of templates available
online with specific wording that you can copy and paste onto your website.

# Don’t try and cheat - Affiliate Marketing in the past had a reputation for being
a ‘dirty’ channel with a lot of people using bad methods such as cookie stuffing, or
forced link clicking scripts to get rich quick. Many affiliate networks are now very
aware of these unethical methods of cheating and if they find you doing it they will
ban you from their network and will remove any commissions associated to you.
