Tips for building your Affiliate Marketing website

Tips for building your Affiliate Marketing
website

Here are my top tips for building an effective Affiliate Marketing website:
*Choose your platform - The first step is to decide your platform. There are
quite a few out there, all with their various benefits, but I’m going to list my
favourites:

WordPress - The go-to CMS (content management system) for affiliate
marketers. It’s easy to find WordPress themes for blogs, voucher code sites,
comparison engines… everything. WordPress is fantastic because of its ease-of-
use, flexibility and support. I run almost every single affiliate website and blog I
own on WordPress and don’t see this changing.

Social media - Affiliate Marketing on social media is growing. It’s a slightly
risky business as you have to constantly be aware of the social networks strict
policies on Affiliate Marketing. Done the right way however, Affiliate
Marketing on social media can reap strong results. Running a social media page
purely dedicated to pumping out affiliate links might be tough, but mix this up
with relevant articles, news & blog posts and you might be on to something
Custom design - Finally, if your Affiliate Marketing idea is unique and you need
it built from scratch then I would recommend finding a designer who will advise
on the best platform and who will custom design your website.

* Branding - It’s really important to create a strong identity for your Affiliate
Marketing brand, not only because it makes everything look nice but it also gets
across that you are more professional and trustworthy. This will lead to you being
accepted to more merchant programmes and will mean potential customers buy more
through you. Getting a logo designed, creating a strong description of who you are
and what you do and choosing a colour scheme to use across your website are all
good starting points. Use customer research to inform your branding. If you’re
running a luxury fashion blog you don’t want a tacky logo, a description with slangwords & garish colour scheme. Build your site - Once you’ve chosen your platform and worked out your
branding you can make a start on your website. Obviously everyone goes about this
differently, but I do have a bit of advice that applies to every person designing a
website that will be used for Affiliate Marketing. Do not design it around Affiliate
Marketing. Design your website around the people that will use it and then find a
way to tactfully include Affiliate Marketing links, banners or voucher codes. This
will mean people engage with you and your website and this will lead to increased
generation of commission on a long term basis.

*Fill up your website - Before you progress on to joining any affiliate
programmes it is essential you fill your website up. By this I mean make sure you
have content on your website, this can include; ‘about’ and ‘contact us’ sections,
logo, links to social media, any imagery you’re going to use and then a few pieces of
content relevant to your website. Websites that are not complete rarely get accepted
onto affiliate programmes.
