Easy Way to change your pc ip address

1: Unplugging the modem

Before you try any other options, I recommend to unplug the power cable for your modem (remove the battery from the modem if it has one) for a couple of minutes. When the modem is reconnected, it will be assigned a new address from the pool of available addresses provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Chances that you will get same IP address are very slim, therefore, in most cases this should result in an IP address change. However, it doesn’t always work, because your ISP may require you to unplug the modem for hours, or even days, before it can be assigned a new IP address.

2: Using command prompt

To get to command prompt in Windows 8: go to the Start screen and just start typing “command prompt”. Choose command prompt from the list of found items. To get to command prompt in Windows 7, click Start => All programs => Accessories => Command Prompt.Right-click command prompt and choose “Run as administrator”.Type “ipconfig /release”. You may notice that you do not have internet connection at this point, which is ok.Type “ipconfig /renew”. Your internet connection should be back up with a new IP address.

3: Using Control Panel

Go to Control Panel and click Network and Internet.Choose Network and Sharing Center. On the left select Change adapter settings.Right-click on your network card and click Properties. In Networking tab select Internet Protocol version 4 or Internet Protocol version 6 and click Properties.Select Obtain an IP address automatically. Click OK.Your IP address should be changed.

4: Using default IP address of your router.

Type 192.168.1.1 in you Internet browser address bar.Log in with your Network ID and password.Go to Status and click Release IP Address.Go to Setup and click MAC address clone.Select Enable and click Clone MAC address.Save settings.Unplug just the modem (take out the battery too if your modem has one).Go to status and click Renew IP address.Plug the modem back in (put the battery back in), wait couple of minutes and click Refresh.Your new IP address should be displayed.
